Arrowtown is an awesome old gold mining town just outside Queenstown in New Zealand. It’s surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, the Arrow river and is also home to a Chinese settlement which was built during the Otago gold rush in the 1860’s. The small remaining huts (some of which are ingeniously built into a rocky hillside) are heritage listed and show the cramped and harsh living conditions of the day.
As an experiment, I created this small film using the Nikon D850 entirely at 120 frames per second. The lens I used is the Nikon 16-35mm F4 VR. It was done handheld (no gimbal), stabilised in Premiere Pro using the warp stabiliser effect. Hope you enjoy the look around Arrowtown 🙂
