I regularly use these free phone photography apps that help me often with my photography when I’m out and about. From landscape photography, long exposure photography and astrophotography. These free phone photography apps will assist you in planning, timing and even locating stars in the sky! Whether I’m out on location or just planning a trip, these free apps help me to be better prepared for the type of photograph I’m doing.

Quite often I get asked on my YouTube channel what apps I like to use. These apps are free, but I also use ones that I have to pay for. An example is the PhotoPills app. I had to buy it, but it is worth every penny I paid for it. Its night and day augmented reality feature is just superb. When I get to a photography location I can ascertain where exactly the sun is coming up or setting. Where the Milky Way will rise or set which assists me in the composition of my shot. So yes, I do recommend buying that particular app for photography.
