The brand new Nikon 17-28mm F2.8 Z mount lens is now available for pre-order. This is Nikon’s third wide angle zoom lens to be added to the Z mount line up. Currently includes the Nikon 14-30mm F4S and Nikon 14-24mm F2.8S lenses. In this video, I talk about the pros and cons and the one BIG issue I have with it. Well, actually there’s three.

Are we are seeing a more diverse line up of Z lens with the addition of the Nikon Z 17-28mm f2.8? Eventually we’ll see a Nikon Z 70-180mm F2.8 to round out the trilogy I think. Will be interesting though to see how prices goes in the coming next generation of Nikon lenses. At the time of writing this blog, the Nikon 17-28mm F2.8 Z lens has a pre-order price here in Australia of $2199! Same specced Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 Sony E mount is approximately $1315. That’s quite a significant difference in bucks.
