• Nikon D850 | Photographing Mistletoe Birds

NikonD850 Photographing Mistletoe Birds. In this video I use my beloved Nikon D850 to photograph some Mistletoe birds. I use the D850 in conjunction with the Nikon AF-S 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 lens. I do love using this combo for close quarters bird photography. These little Mistletoe birds are super fast and erratic, but I managed to capture a few cool shots of them.

NikonD850 Photographing Mistletoe Birds. I almost made a mistake in this video as I thought I was photographing flame or scarlet robins. Oh well, learnt something new in this video.

  • Nikon D850 | Photographing Sooty Oystercatchers

In this video I use my Nikon D850 + Nikon AF-S 200-500mm F5.6 lens to photograph Sooty Oystercatchers. These birds are truly amazing in the way they feed and unique colourings. This is the first time I’ve tried using the Nikon AF-S 200-500mm F5.6 lens on my D850 for bird photography as I experiment to find a new long telephoto lens for my Nikon cameras.

Nikon D850 – Sooty Oystercatchers are endemic to Australia. I was surprised to learn these birds are rare here in my part of the world. They’re even endangered in New South Wales in Australia. That’s such a shame.

  • Nikon D850 | Photographing Silver Eyes In The Rain!

Nikon D850 Silver Eyes. In this video I head out with both my Nikon D850 and Nikon Z7 cameras to photograph the illusive Silver Eye birds. It has just come into the season here for these quick little guys and despite the rain I still managed to find some eating berries from a tree. The D850 as always gave me superb stills and my Z7 supplied the video B roll.

Nikon D850 Silver Eyes Photography can be a little finicky. The Silver Eyes dart around very fast!

  • Nikon D850 | Photographing Superb Fairy-wrens

In this video I venture into my bird garden that I created at my home with the Nikon D850 and Nikon Z7 to photograph Superb Fairy-wrens. I used the D850 for stills and the Z7 for the slow motion video B roll. Both cameras used the Nikon AF-S 80-400mm F4.5-5.6G ED VR lens (Z7 via the FTZII adapter).

Nikon D850 Superb Fairy-wrens – I really enjoyed making this short video. Superb Fairy-wrens move so fast and they are really cool to photograph. My bird garden that I created at home has been such a joy. I’ve had different varieties of birds come and visit.

  • Nikon D850 | Photographing Rainbow Lorikeets

In this video I venture out with my Nikon D850 + Nikon AF-S 80-400mm F4.5-5.6G ED VR lens to photograph some Rainbow Lorikeets. Nikon D850 Photographing Rainbow Lorikeets. It was up close and personal with these guys out in the wild and they seemed not to really mind me getting in close proximity. This is where the D850 and 80-400mm worked so well together due to the high 45MP sensor and close minimum focusing ability. The colours of these birds are just incredibly beautiful… their screeching call, not so much.

Please enjoy the video Nikon D850 Photographing Rainbow Lorikeets. While you’re at my Youtube channel be sure to check all the other videos I have there.

  • Nikon D850 | Photographing Tawny Frogmouths

Nikon D850 Photographing Tawny Frogmouths. In this video I venture out with my Nikon D850 and Nikon AF-S 80-400mm F4.5-5.6G ED VR lens to capture some illusive Tawny Frogmouths. They can be so hard to spot due to their amazing camouflage. The D850 as always performed extremely well giving me amazing definition in the Tawny Frogmouth feathers and facial features.

Nikon D850 Photographing Tawny Frogmouths. Hope you enjoy the video. I had a lot of fun on this morning and it has prompted me to buy a more powerful telephoto lens. I am looking at the Nikon 500mm F5.6 PF lens along with an AF-S 1.4 teleconverter. Now comes the difficult task of paying for that lens set up. It can be very expensive, but I have heard it’s completely worth it. Looks like I will have to sell off some of my older lenses to help pay for it.

  • Nikon D850 & Z7 Bird Photography + Pergear 256GB CFE-B Pro Card Review

In this video I head out with my Nikon D850 & Z7 to do some bird photography. But the reason for this is to test out the new release Pergear 256GB CFE-B Pro Memory Card. I used my D850 for the stills side of things and the Z7 for video. I changed the Pergear CFE-B Pro Card into each camera as I used it. Very fortunate to capture a lot of different varieties of birds in this video and both Nikon cameras performed really well in combination with the new Pergear card. I love my Nikon D850 for bird photography, there’s something magic about the colours and image quality I get.

I have done another video where I put both the D850 and Z7 up against each other for bird photography. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can view it here – https://youtu.be/FBf0w0DbMSo

  • Nikon D850 Wildlife Photography | LOVE This Camera!

In this Nikon D850 wildlife photography video I venture out to Kumbartcho Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia. The wildlife here is varied from birds, frogs, platypus, koalas, lizards and snakes. The D850 performed beautifully on the day and gave me those rich colours, along with outstanding image quality I can always rely on.

The Nikon D850 in my opinion is still the BEST DSLR ever made. I’ve had nothing but great success with the Nikon D850 for wildlife photography. Not to mention also portrait, astro, bird and mainly landscape photography. This is a testament to the camera which was first released over 5 years ago in 2017. Today it is still m favourite camera for so many reasons.

  • Nikon D850 Chasing the TINY Double-barred Finch

In this video I give chase to the illusive little double-barred finch with my Nikon D850. These guys move so fast only stopping very briefly to chat to one another or have a bit of a scratch or prune of their feathers. They hide and feed in dense foliage of long grass, weeds and bush scrub. Patience is the key and you have to wait for them to come to you after placing yourself in their habitat. I team the D850 together with my Nikon 80-400mm lens, a versatile lens for moving quickly and lightly. It took some time for this video to eventuate because I really thought I wasn’t going to get any shots. See what happens…

  • Nikon Z7 vs Nikon D850 Bird Photography

In this video I compare the Nikon Z7 vs Nikon D850 for bird photography and I was surprised with some of the results.
